On Tuesday, 13th May, 2025, the Birim North District Assembly witnessed the confirmation of the President nominee for the position of the District Chief Executive.
The event also saw the swearing in of 12 government appointees into office by the District Magistrate, His Lordship Benjamin Attabra. There was also the election of the Presiding Member (PM) where Hon. Emmanuel Aseidu Adade stood unopposed. Hon. Emmanuel Aseidu Adade was therefore elected as PM with 37 out of 37 votes by Hon. Members present and voted representing 92.5% of the entire 40 Assembly Members.
In a goodwill message by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abirem Constituency, Hon. Charles Oweirdu pledged to work collaboratively with the President’s nominee for the betterment of the District. He also advised the Hon. Members to put aside their differences and work together to achieve the common objectives of the District.
The President nominee for the position of the District Chief Executive, Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul was unanimously endorsed by all 37 Assembly Members giving him a 100% approval and confirmation.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey official swore in the newly confirmed DCE for the Birim North District Assembly. She highlighted that, the nominee was carefully chosen based on merit, competence, loyalty and a strong commitment to public service. She encouraged the newly elected DCE to work closely with the Assembly and all stakeholders to ensure effective governance and accelerate development in the District.
The newly elected DCE, Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul in his acceptance speech expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Assembly Members for the confidence reposed on him. He pledged to work with collaboratively with all stakeholders to drive development and improve infrastructure and service delivery across the District.
In a brief remarks, the Abiremhene, Nana Akwasi Amo Kyeretwie I called on Hon. Assembly Members to unite and support the Hon. DCE in the administration of his duties. He also assured Hon. Members and the general public of unwavering support from Nananom.
In attendance was the Eastern Regional Minister, Member of Parliament (MP), Nananom, Hon. Assembly Members, District and Regional Party Executives, Religious leaders, Electoral Commission, District Magistrate, Staff of the Birim North District Assembly, Media, Well-Wishers and the General Public.
